How the Subscription Renewal Date works
The Subscription Renewal Date calculator takes the date your subscription began billing and the cycle length in months and projects the next renewal — then rolls it forward to a working day if it would otherwise land on a weekend or holiday. Enter the start date, the cycle (1 for monthly, 12 for annual, or anything between), your workweek, and the country whose banking calendar applies.
Renewal is measured from the billing start date — your signup or first charge, not the day a free trial began. Because the renewal lands on the matching day-of-month rather than after a fixed day count, an annual plan started on the 15th renews on the 15th a year later. Fixing the right start date matters, since every projected charge moves with it.
The reason the tool adjusts to a business day is that payments are captured and settled through banking systems that only run on working days. A renewal that mathematically falls on a Sunday or a national holiday is carried forward to the next day a charge can actually process, which is why the country you select changes the result.
Worked example
A monthly subscription that started on January 31 cannot renew on February 31, so the renewal clamps to the last day of February — the 28th, or the 29th in a leap year. If that clamped date then falls on a weekend, the business-day roll-forward applies on top, carrying it to the following Monday (or Tuesday if Monday is a holiday). The two adjustments stacking is exactly what makes manual counting unreliable here.
