How the Hybrid Work Schedule Calculator works
The Hybrid Work Schedule Calculator turns a weekly in-office pattern — say, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday in the office — into an exact count of office days across any date range, by treating your chosen in-office weekdays as a custom workweek and counting how many of them fall inside the range, holidays included.
A policy stated as "three days a week" doesn't translate evenly into a monthly total, because months don't contain the same number of each weekday and because a public holiday only removes an office day if it happens to fall on one of your specific in-office weekdays. Two teams on a nominally identical "three days a week" policy but different specific days can end up with different real office-day counts once a month's actual calendar is applied.
Worked example
A Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday hybrid pattern across a month containing a public holiday on the second Wednesday produces roughly 11 office days once the holiday is correctly subtracted from the Wednesday count for that month — not the flat 12 a "three days times four weeks" estimate would suggest, and a different total again for a team whose in-office days don't include Wednesday.
